FH6 Winter Tuning: Astra VXR & Bentayga

Published: September 24, 2026 ยท Last updated: November 6, 2026 ยท 10 min read

The FH6 Winter tuning plan has two very different jobs. The 2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR arrives at 20 Playlist Points as a B 512 FWD hot hatch. The 2016 Bentley Bentayga arrives at 40 points as an A 612 AWD SUV with far more power and weight. Which Winter reward car should you tune first? Claim the Astra first, then build the Bentley for stable mixed-surface driving instead of forcing one car into every Winter event.

The official FH6 Festival Playlist Hub lists British Automotive Winter from September 24 through October 1, 2026. Playground Games’ Series 5 announcement confirms the reward thresholds, stock classes, power figures, and drivetrains. The slider values below are FH6 Guide recommendations: test them on the same route, with the same assists, before treating them as a finished tune.

Winter reward cars at a glance

CarThresholdStock class / PIPower / torqueDriveBest first job
2006 Vauxhall Astra VXR20 pointsB 512236 hp / 236 lb-ftFWDB-class road / compact handling
2016 Bentley Bentayga40 pointsA 612599 hp / 663 lb-ftAWDA-class mixed surface / off-road

The official figures explain the tuning order. The Astra does not need a power-first build; its front tires already have to steer and pull the car out of corners. The Bentayga does not need an aggressive engine swap to feel quick; its main challenge is carrying a heavy body through braking zones and direction changes. Treat these as two different handling problems.

Claim order: Astra at 20, Bentayga at 40

Start with the Astra VXR if you are short on time. Reaching 20 points secures the first Winter car and gives you a usable B-class FWD platform for technical road work. Continue to 40 for the Bentayga if you want the complete reward pair or need a powerful AWD option for mixed surfaces. The claim order is strategic, not a claim that either car is universally faster.

Winter’s official list includes the 2010 Jaguar C-X75 weekly challenge, daily tasks for a Car Meet, Speed Skills, Photo, Upgrade, Wheelspin, Speed Trap, and Time Attack, plus the #BambooPerfect photo challenge at the Bamboo Forest. It also lists a Shimanoyama Treasure Hunt, Country Pickups in B class, Cult Street in D class, a United Kingdom A-class Drift Attack target, three PR Stunts, The Trial, Horizon Racing, and Horizon Stunt Party. Check the live in-game restriction before buying parts.

Vauxhall Astra VXR B-class FWD baseline

The Astra starts at B 512, so keep the FWD layout and spend the first PI on predictable front-end response. Your goal is to reduce exit understeer without turning the rear into a surprise. This is a practical B-class road baseline, not an official share code.

AreaStarting pointWhy it helps
TiresStart near 28.0 psi front / 27.0 psi rearLeaves the front responsive while giving the rear a little compliance
AlignmentFront camber -1.6ยฐ, rear -0.9ยฐ, toe 0ยฐ, caster 5.5ยฐBuilds front grip without making straight-line braking nervous
Anti-roll barsStart near 22 front / 28 rearHelps the FWD car rotate before throttle is applied
BrakesKeep bias close to 51% front; raise pressure only if lockup is controlledSupports trail braking without overloading the front tires
DifferentialAcceleration 58%, deceleration 18%Enough lock to pull out of bends without constant inside-wheel scrub

Drive the Astra with a short lift before turn-in, then feed throttle only after the front wheels point at the exit. If the nose pushes wide, lower front pressure slightly or reduce acceleration lock before adding power. If the rear feels too passive, make one small rear anti-roll-bar change and retest the same corner. Do not change tires, bars, and differential in one pass or you will not know which adjustment solved the problem.

Bentley Bentayga A-class AWD baseline

The Bentayga starts at A 612 with 599 hp, 663 lb-ft, and AWD. Its traction is useful, but the weight still matters when you brake, turn, and change direction. Start with tires, brakes, and suspension control. Add power only after the car can repeat a clean line on both pavement and loose surfaces.

AreaStarting pointWhat to watch
TiresUse a mixed-surface or off-road-focused compound; start near 26.5 psi front / 26.0 psi rearLower pressure only if the tire stays stable through fast transitions
AlignmentFront camber -1.0ยฐ, rear -0.6ยฐ, toe 0ยฐ, caster 5.8ยฐKeeps the tall body calm while preserving front response
Anti-roll barsStart near 24 front / 20 rearReduces sudden rotation when the suspension unloads on dirt
BrakesBias near 52% front; use moderate pressureGives the heavy SUV a stable braking platform before turn-in
DifferentialFront 25% / rear 55% acceleration; front 10% / rear 18% decelerationLets the AWD system drive out without making the front wash wide

On pavement, brake earlier than you would in the Astra and release the pedal smoothly. On dirt, use the Bentayga’s AWD traction to straighten exits rather than carrying a large slide. If the body rolls too much, add suspension control before adding more anti-roll stiffness. A stiff SUV can lose grip when the road gets uneven, so keep one softer mixed-surface setup saved beside any road-only build.

Match each car to the Winter Playlist

The official Winter restrictions do not make either reward car a universal solution. The Astra is a reasonable B-class road project, but Country Pickups requires Pickups & 4x4’s in B class, so it cannot replace the required vehicle type. The Bentayga may be useful for testing mixed-surface lines, yet it is not a Rally Monster for The Trial. Prepare the required class first, then use the reward cars for daily tasks, open-world driving, and tuning practice.

For the Shimanoyama A-class Drift Attack target, do not copy the Bentayga baseline and expect a leaderboard drift. Use the site’s Drift Attack tuning guide for a dedicated RWD setup. For the general suspension principles behind both reward cars, use the FH6 suspension tuning guide and change one setting group at a time.

Three-pass test routine

  1. Stock pass: save the untouched car and run one familiar road or dirt section to identify the first real problem.
  2. Grip pass: change tires, alignment, and brakes only. Record whether the car brakes straighter and exits with less scrub.
  3. Balance pass: adjust anti-roll bars and differential, then repeat the same section twice. Keep the change only if the improvement is repeatable.

For a full Winter completion route, use the FH6 Festival Playlist guide and the Season Events page. The live Playlist and in-game timer remain the final authority if an event restriction, reset time, or reward display differs from an earlier snapshot.

Verdict: secure the Astra, then build the Bentley

The Astra VXR is the efficient 20-point claim and the easier car to learn in B class. The Bentayga is the 40-point reward for players who want a powerful AWD platform with a different driving rhythm. Keep the Astra tidy and front-grip focused; keep the Bentley stable and surface-aware. That division gives both Winter rewards a clear job without wasting credits on upgrades they cannot use in restricted events.
