Forza Horizon 6 Skill Chain Guide
Skill Chains are one of FH6's most deep and rewarding systems. It rewards players who consistently create exciting driving moments โ drifts, sharp turns, near misses, jumpsโฆ various moves chain together into higher and higher combo multipliers. Mastering skill chains earns you more Skill Points and unlocks legendary skills.
Core Approach: Skill chains are fundamentally about non-stop exciting driving moments. Don't just drive from A to B โ actively seek environments that trigger skills: traffic, mountain roads, ramps, corners. More diverse skill combos build multipliers faster.
Skill Types
Drift
Score while sliding โ sustained slides score even higher
Sharp Turn
Quick direction changes โ common on mountain roads
Near Miss
Scored when passing close to obstacles or vehicles
Air
Scored on jump landing โ higher air = higher score
Sideswipe
Parallel driving alongside another vehicle triggers this
Grind
Rubbing against fixed objects like barriers
Chainsaw
Rapid left-right steering inputs โ very difficult
Zombie
Threading between oncoming cars at the last moment โ extremely rare
High Chain Tips
โข Keeping the car in a controlled slide is key to maintaining the chain
โข Mountain roads and consecutive corners let you rack up Drift combos quickly
โข Near Miss is easy to trigger by weaving through traffic
โข Combine jumps with drifts on landing for combo multipliers
โข Don't panic if the chain breaks โ starting over is better than chasing a lost cause
Recommended Skill Chain Routes
Kyoto mountain roads are the best skill chain training ground โ consecutive corners keep triggering Drift, combined with road undulations for Air tricks, making 20+ combos easy. When traffic thins at night, practice Near Miss on the highways too.
