PI (Performance Index) is FH6's core metric for measuring car capability. Understanding PI's composition and calculation helps you make smarter upgrade decisions โ avoiding the awkward situation where upgrades make your car weaker. This guide walks you through using the FH6Guide PI Calculator.
Core Principle: Upgrades don't chase individual part maximums โ they pursue the optimal weight-to-power ratio. Sometimes skipping one part is smarter than adding it.
PI Class Overview
| Class | PI Range | Description |
|---|---|---|
| D | 200-399 | Stock or lightly modified โ great for new player exploration |
| C | 400-599 | Moderately modified โ sufficient for city driving |
| B | 600-699 | Significantly modified โ starting to get fun |
| A | 700-799 | Highly modified โ competitive in most races |
| S1 | 800-899 | Extreme modification โ top-tier performance |
| S2 | 900-998 | Near maximum โ few cars can match this level |
| X | 999 | Theoretical ceiling โ only a handful of cars can reach this |
PI Calculator Steps
Step 1: Select Base Car
Choose your current car from the PI Calculator. Filter by brand or type to find it quickly.
Step 2: Select Target Upgrades
Check the parts you want to install (engine, transmission, tires, etc.). The predicted PI updates in real time with each selection.
Step 3: Adjust to Target PI
If PI overshoots your target, try removing heavy parts or adding power to "dilute" the efficiency ratio.

Common Mistakes
Some expensive parts are heavier. If power doesn't scale up proportionally, PI can actually drop.
Upgrades have diminishing returns โ the last few parts cost a lot for very little PI gain.
PI is comprehensive โ certain tracks favor specific attributes (acceleration, braking, cornering). The fastest car isn't always the highest PI.
