Forza Horizon 6 Multiplayer Guide

Published: May 7, 2026 | 5 min read

FH6's multiplayer transforms this open Japanese world into a shared experience. Whether forming a Convoy with friends to cruise through Japan together, or racing against players worldwide, multiplayer adds a social dimension to driving.

Getting Started: Make sure you and your friends are all online. Press the Menu button, then select Start Convoy to invite online friends to your convoy.

Multiplayer Modes

Convoy Free Roam

Up to 8 players cruising together in the open world. Complete activities together, explore the map, or just hang out.

Online Racing

Race against other players — street races, circuit races, rally events, and more. For players who want to test their skills.

Horizon Arcade

Mini-game focused multiplayer — item races, target captures, and more. Laid-back fun for when you don't want to be competitive.

Seasonal Events

Each season has multiplayer-exclusive events with exclusive car rewards. Team up with friends to tackle them more efficiently.

Online Tips

Convoy Latency

Playing with geographically distant players increases latency. If someone in your Convoy experiences frequent rubber-banding, check NAT settings or switch to a closer data center.

Car Level Matching

All Convoy members get a temporary 'shared level' based on the lowest player's level. Newcomers won't drag down veterans, but veterans can't completely dominate either.

Convoy Strategy

When traveling as a group, maintain formation with the leader setting the route. Avoid scattering by going separate ways.

Races Within Convoy

Convoys dissolve during races, making everyone independent competitors. Post-race celebrations and rewards are still shared.

Mobile App Companion

The Forza Horizon App can show Convoy member locations and car info remotely — great for organizing events.
