FH6 Launch Guide - How to Launch a Car in Forza Horizon 6

Published: May 7, 2026 | 6 min read

Getting a perfect launch is essential for winning races in Forza Horizon 6. This guide covers launch control, brake stall launches, and clutch launches to help you get the fastest starts possible.

💡 Quick Tip: For beginners, use Launch Assist in the settings menu. For advanced players, master the brake stall launch technique for the fastest possible starts.

Method 1: Launch Assist (Easiest)

The easiest way to get a good launch is using FH6's built-in Launch Assist feature:

  1. Go to Settings > Assists
  2. Enable Launch Assist
  3. At the start line, hold full throttle
  4. The car will automatically manage the clutch and launch

Method 2: Brake Stall Launch (Manual)

For the absolute fastest launches, use the brake stall technique with manual transmission:

  1. Set transmission to Manual
  2. Hold the brake with your left foot
  3. Rev the engine to 3,000-4,000 RPM
  4. Quickly release the brake while holding throttle
  5. Shift to 2nd gear at 6,000 RPM for maximum acceleration

Method 3: Clutch Launch (Simulator Style)

For a more realistic driving experience, use the clutch launch technique:

  1. Hold the brake and clutch simultaneously
  2. Rev to 4,000-5,000 RPM
  3. Release the clutch to the bite point (about 30% travel)
  4. As the car starts moving, gradually release the clutch while adding throttle
  5. Fully release the clutch once moving

Common Launch Mistakes to Avoid

Revving too high (above 5,000 RPM)

Causes wheel spin and slower starts

Releasing clutch too fast

Engine stalls or causes wheel hop

Not using proper tire compound

Poor traction on launch

Launching on wet surfaces at full throttle

Massive wheel spin and loss of control

Note: Launch techniques work best with Sport or Race transmission settings. Experiment with different RPM ranges to find the perfect launch for your car.
