The joy of an open-world game is going wherever you want, whenever you want. But in FH6, instant travel isn't free — it costs Fast Travel Points as "fuel". This guide resolves all your fast travel questions.
Key Concept: Fast Travel Points ≠ Skill Points. They convert into each other but serve different purposes. Hold onto Skill Points for powerful skills — use billboard completion to reduce travel costs.
Solutions
Top Up Fast Travel Points
In the Skills menu, convert excess Skill Points into Fast Travel Points. Each Skill Point converts into a set amount of Fast Travel Points.
Complete Fast Travel Billboards
'Fast Travel Billboards' scattered across the map — completing them permanently lowers travel cost. Prioritize these.
Buy Super Speed Skill
Purchase Super Speed from the skill tree (requires Skill Points). Once active, enables free instant travel.
Use Nearby Travel Points
If your destination is too far and costs too many points, fast travel to an intermediate point, then continue from there.
Complete Horizon Stories
Finishing main Horizon Stories chapters rewards large amounts of Skill Points and is the main way to unlock more fast travel.
Fast Travel Point Types
FH6's Japan map has multiple fast travel point types:
- Festival Sites — Main fast travel hubs, one per major city
- Fast Travel Billboards — Permanently reduce travel costs — do these first
- Safe Houses — Unlockable as fast travel destinations once discovered
- Hotels — Some hotels offer fast travel options
Tip: After completing all Fast Travel Billboards, travel becomes completely free. Prioritize these.
