Forza Horizon 6 Season Guide - Seasonal Changes, Rewards & Schedule

Published: May 7, 2026 | 7 min read

Forza Horizon 6 features a dynamic four-season cycle that transforms Japan's landscape throughout the year. Each season brings different weather, surface conditions, events, and exclusive rewards. Understanding the seasonal system is essential for maximizing your progress and enjoying all the map has to offer.

Season Rotation Schedule

Seasons in FH6 change every Thursday. A countdown timer appears at the top of your screen before the switch. When it hits zero, the game reloads the world with the new season's look and conditions. Seasons cycle in this order: Spring → Summer → Autumn → Winter → Spring. The current Summer season began May 21, 2026.

How Each Season Affects Gameplay

Each season dramatically changes driving conditions across Japan. Summer brings dry roads and long daylight hours — ideal for high-speed racing and exploring. Autumn paints the mountain roads in red and gold, with slightly wetter surfaces. Winter covers northern regions in snow, particularly around Shinano and Sotoyama, creating icy handling challenges that reward AWD and winter-tire setups. Spring features rain and blooming cherry blossoms, reducing grip on some roads.

Seasonal Rewards

Completing the Festival Playlist each season earns exclusive cars and content. Summer seasons typically reward high-performance sports cars and Japan-exclusive models. Each 20% and 40% completion tier unlocks additional rewards, so play consistently throughout the season rather than rushing at the end. Seasonal championships also unlock specific vehicle variants not available in the showroom.

Playing Each Season

If you want to experience a specific season without waiting, set up a Custom Race and choose your preferred season from the settings menu. This won't change your open-world season but lets you race in any conditions. This is especially useful for testing car setups in snow before committing to a winter-theme Horizon Adventure.
