Forza Horizon 6 Preview: 10 Things You Need to Know

Forza Horizon 6 is almost here! Set in Japan with a map 5x larger than any previous Forza Horizon game, this is the biggest and most ambitious Horizon festival yet. Here's everything you need to know before launch.

1. Tokyo is MASSIVE

The Japan map features Tokyo as its centerpiece, approximately 5 times larger than the largest city in Forza Horizon 5. We're talking Shibuya, Shinjuku, Tokyo Bay, Akihabara, and more. Plus five distinct regions: Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Hokkaido, and Okinawa.

2. 550+ Cars at Launch

Forza Horizon 6 launches with over 550 vehicles spanning decades of automotive history. Cover cars include the 2025 Toyota GR GT Prototype and 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser. The Car Pass adds 30 more cars over time.

3. Premium Early Access: May 15

Premium and Ultimate edition owners get a 4-day head start on May 15. That's 4 extra days to explore Tokyo, find Barn Finds, and get a head start on achievements. Full launch is May 19, 2026.

4. PC Requirements & Graphics Modes

A GTX 1650 handles 1080p at 60fps. FH6 supports Ray Tracing with Global Illumination, plus DLSS 3 and FSR 3 upscaling. Xbox Series X offers Quality Mode (RT) and Performance Mode (60fps+). Full installation requires ~150GB on PC, 135GB on Xbox.

5. 9 Radio Stations — Biggest Music Lineup Yet

FH6 features 9 music stations — the most in Horizon history. Set in Japan, the lineup includes J-Pop, electronic, rock, synthwave, hip-hop, and more. Players are already requesting returning tracks from FH4/FH5.

6. Seasonal Events System

The seasons return with new twists. Each 4-week season brings new weekly challenges, season-specific events, and exclusive rewards. Alpine snow appears year-round in Hokkaido region.

7. Build Your Life in Japan — New Progression

FH6 introduces a new way to progress: start as a tourist and earn 7 wristbandsthrough Festival races. Each wristband unlocks new events and areas. The ultimate goal: unlock Legend Island and face the legendary Colossus — FH6's hardest event. Also features the "Discover Japan" stamp collecting system for exploration rewards.

8. New Features: Car Proximity Radar, Meetups & More

Playground Games has introduced several new features: Car Proximity Radar helps you find cars around you,Meetups let you gather with other players, Obstacle Course Run is a new event type, and World Famous Japanese Landmarks are integrated into the map. The livery editor now supports painting on windows, with new pre-made vinyl groups including PI Class logos and Wristband icons.

9. Blueprint Code Database + Race Customizer

Thousands of player-created race blueprints are available at launch. Search by track type, car class, reward type, and more. Copy codes with one click. EventLab returns with enhanced creation tools.

10. Game Pass Day One + PS5 Later

Forza Horizon 6 launches on Xbox Game Pass on day one for subscribers. No purchase needed unless you want Premium early access. PlayStation 5 support is coming later in 2026.
