Forza Horizon 6 Kyoto Mountain Road Touge Guide

Published: May 7, 2026 | 8 min read

When it comes to touge (mountain road racing), Japan's tofu shop culture is the stuff of legend. In FH6's Kyoto map, you'll experience the purest form of mountain road driving — narrow lanes, blind corners, and sudden elevation changes. Mastering proper touge technique will make you faster and more confident on any road.

Core Principle: Mountain driving's essence is slow in, fast out. Enter corners at the speed your tires can handle, then accelerate as soon as you see the exit. Never dive in hot and brake mid-corner — that's circuit thinking, not touge.

Route Overview

Kyoto Northern Route

Difficulty ★★☆☆☆Length 3.2kmCorners 12

Gentler corners ideal for beginners. Wide roads with high error tolerance.

Best Car: AE86 / MX-5 Miata
Brake to ~60km/h before corners
Most corners work with inertia drift
Watch for oncoming traffic

Kyoto Mountain Pass

Difficulty ★★★★☆Length 4.8kmCorners 24

Consecutive corners with major elevation changes, requiring precise throttle and brake timing. Several blind corners demand extra attention.

Best Car: S15 / GR Supra / GT-R R34
Weight transfer on downhill corners
Higher entry speed is fine on elevated sections
Fast exits are key to good times

Arashiyama Bamboo Path

Difficulty ★★★☆☆Length 2.1kmCorners 8

Most scenic stretch — narrow but corners are relatively simple. Great for scenic driving alongside practice.

Best Car: Any well-handling car
Stay off road edges on narrow sections
Focus on feel here, not speed
Great bamboo forest photo spot

Fuji-Warrior Touge Techniques

1. Gaze Guidance

Before entering a corner, look at the apex rather than the near road edge. Your gaze guides your body weight transfer, naturally sliding the car toward where you want to go. This is the first lesson Keisuke's father taught him.

2. Brake-Throttle Rhythm

Standard rhythm: brake before corner → lift brake while turning → body starts to slide → hold slide through apex → throttle on exit. Hands and feet must coordinate — never brake while turning.

3. Pendulum Effect

Before entering a corner, steer briefly in the opposite direction to shift weight, then countersteer into the corner. This move lets you carry more speed through S-curves and consecutive corners.
